Help us build a home for widow and 5 children
In March of this year I had an opportunity to visit Ukraine on a humanitarian trip. During that trip I met a woman who was widowed and was living in a small mud style home with her 5 children. Seeing the conditions of the home that had only 2 rooms and a constant smell of smoke from rundown wood burning heaters and cracked wood flooring I felt a call to figure out a way to help her and the kids. Below is a short paragraph of what happened in their family.
"In the morning, Oleg and Roman, our eldest son, went to work to trim trees and at about nine in the morning the son called and said that dad had been badly injured by a chainsaw. His neck was cut where the carotid artery is located. He lost a lot of blood and the doctors could not stop the bleeding fast enough. Oleg died from blood loss in the arms of his son. I was left with four children and pregnant with the fifth. There were some difficulties with the pregnancy, but God helped me and on February 8, 2023, our son Ilya was born, completely healthy. Glory be to God! Our God is merciful and kind to us. He never left me and my children. Before Oleg’s death and after, my children and I always glorify and thank Him in the congregation, despite any difficulties. Glory to the merciful God!" -Daria Nikolaevna Tkachenko
Since then we have been working on finding a solution for this family and 2 months ago we purchased land in Pervomaisk where she is living to build them a new home. We are asking for your help to raise $50,000 dollars to help us build a home for this family before the coldest months set in.
