11/30/25, my sister Rachel and her husband Bo, suffered a tremendous loss when their house caught fire!
SUPPORTING THE SNIDERS AFTER DEVASTATING HOUSE FIRE:
We are immensely grateful to share the most important news first:
Everyone made it out safely, including all family members and their pets.
Thank goodness they were home, and awake, when it happened.
Bo happened to hear the sparking from the electrical wires/breaker box, and everything happened very quickly. Before they knew it, the fire was in the wall and up in the attic. He acted swiftly, and called 911 while forcing my sister out of the house (multiple times, I'm told)!
While "stuff" can be replaced, lives cannot, and we are praising God that no one was injured!
However, the road ahead is going to be challenging. The fire caused extensive damage, including a collapsed roof. Anything that wasn’t burned has likely sustained significant smoke and water damage. They have essentially lost their entire home and all of its contents. They are currently staying with our parents in nearby Ellsworth. This temporary housing puts 10 people—Rachel, Bo, and their six children (ages 4 months to 19 years old)—under one roof.
(For clarification, Jacob, 19, was already living with my parents, but now the whole family is!)
While we are so thankful to our parents for this, and also thankful that there is a safe and warm space for them right now, it is not a long-term solution.
We are starting this fundraiser to help them bridge the gap as they navigate insurance claims and begin the overwhelming process of rebuilding their lives.
How your support helps:
They need immediate assistance for basic necessities:
- Temporary housing solutions
- Food & clothing for a family of seven-- Jacob was already living at my parent's house, but he still eats a lot! ;)
- Toiletries and essentials (especially with five young children)
- Replacing crucial items like baby gear, school supplies, and furniture
- Help with deductibles and costs not covered by insurance
Every dollar counts! This family has a long and bumpy journey ahead of them. If you are able to contribute financially to help them get back on their feet, your generosity is deeply appreciated! If you are not in a position to donate money, the best gift you can give us is your prayers. Please continue to lift up the Snider family as they navigate this difficult and emotional rollercoaster. Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers!
