About the Fork and Arrow:

As many of you may know, my mom, Christie Keddy, is co-owner of The Fork and Arrow in Campbell River. Over the years, she and her business partner, Zach Hanuse, have poured their hearts into building The Fork and Arrow into what it is today. In doing so, they have created something special, something so much more than a café. It is a place built from love, culture, and community.

The Fork and Arrow is Indigenous-owned and Indigenous-led, with many Indigenous team members who show up each day with heart and purpose. This is a place where people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. A place rooted in connection, belonging, and community.

Almost daily, The Fork and Arrow provides fresh, delicious food to the people of Campbell River, but the real magic extends far beyond their walls. They partner with local organizations to provide meals for people who are unhoused, people who are too often overlooked or pushed aside. They do not just deliver food. They deliver respect, warmth, and human connection.

These relationships have changed lives. People who once came only needing a meal have found opportunity instead. They found stability. They found family. Some of the very people who once received meals are now proudly working alongside the team, proving how powerful it is when someone believes in you.

Their work also extends across Vancouver Island and beyond through catering that supports First Nations communities. They are honoured to help make cultural gatherings, community events, and Indigenous food sovereignty possible.

Why the Fork and Arrow Needs Help:

Right now, The Fork and Arrow is facing a crisis. They have been undergoing important construction upgrades to continue expanding their services. These renovations have already required over $100,000 in investment.

But during a recent inspection, the entire furnace and heating system was condemned. This means that the café is not able to fully reopen until a new heating system is in place.

This emergency was never part of the renovation plan. The cost of this obstacle is overwhelming, and the timing is devastating. A prolonged closure means:
  • Vulnerable community members lose meals they rely on
  • Employees lose steady work and stability
  • Cultural catering services are limited
  • A vital community hub is put at risk

A place that has cared so deeply for others now urgently needs care in return.

How You Can Make a Difference:

We are raising funds to install a new heating system and reopen The Fork and Arrow as quickly as possible.

Every contribution helps unlock the doors again. Closer to hot meals, smiling faces, laughter behind the counter, and hope being served every day.

Your support:
  • Uplifts an Indigenous-owned and operated business
  • Ensures people who are unhoused continue receiving meals with dignity
  • Protects local jobs that have changed lives
  • Strengthens a local business
  • Keeps culture, community, and connection alive

No matter the amount, your donation truly makes a difference.

Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, and caring about a café that has given so much to so many.

With gratitude,
Trinity Gladstone (on behalf of the Fork and Arrow).
