Help the Family of Brittni Motyka

Hi, my name is Karen Hughes and I am starting this fundraiser for the family of Brittni Motyka, who suffered a pulmonary embolism on Sunday while in Orlando receiving prosthetic care at the facility I work for. The embolism caused irreparable damage to Brittni's body, and her family, who flew in from Boston Sunday night, had to make the heartbreaking decision to end medical treatment. As of this writing, plans are being made to donate Brittni's organs before treatment is withdrawn. This amazing woman, who worked saving lives as a nurse will continue to save lives by her donation.

Brittni, and her partner, Eric, the beneficiary of this fund, are the parents of 3-year-old Olivia, and had recently celebrated the news that she was pregnant with their second child. They purchased their dream home two years ago and have been working hard to provide for their family. With the loss of Brittni's income, Eric will need help. With all of the emotional pain and stress that a death brings, it also brings financial burdens. We are trying to raise money for Eric and Olivia to help with any costs that will be incurred and to help wherever needed. As a community, we want to ease any stress on the family caused by outstanding costs of the funeral and what comes afterward.
