I am Tary Socha, I'm 69 years old and I live in a small condo in Los Angeles, California. The City of Los Angeles has ordered our building to comply with earthquake retrofitting of the building, which costs over $100,000. As a result, the Homeowners Association has billed large Special Assessments on all homeowners. I have paid more than half of the assessment, which has depleted my funds. I still owe $6,666.66, which currently I do not have. If I fail to pay these fees, the Homeowners Association will place a lien on my condo and force foreclosure, and I will lose my home. The fees were due on June 30, 2025, paying off the Fees is urgent.
A few years ago, the company that I worked for closed its Los Angeles office and I lost my job. A few weeks later, I fell and hurt my back. I couldn’t walk and I was hospitalized for a week. Doctors told me that I have a cyst next to my spine and it is not operable. I am much improved now, but I still have difficulty walking up and down stairs and I use a cane to get around.
I live on Social Security benefits and whatever income I can generate from sales of coloring books and puzzle books that I design and sell on Amazon. Book sales are not sufficient to provide the income I need. I need to work from home to supplement my income, but I have not found a suitable remote job. I need to get design software so that I can offer my creative design services on the platform Upwork.
I am seeking donations for the following items:
1. $6,666.66 for the Special Assessment fees.
2. $3,333.34 to pay for needed design software and reimbursement for some software already purchased.
Total $10,000.
Any donations over the targeted goal will be used to cover expenses and taxes owed.
Thank you so much for your support!
