Help Support the Blackmon Family

Hi, my name is Christine, and I'm raising funds for Linda, Marty and their three kids. On July 4, Linda fell ill with Covid-19 and over following week got progressively worse to the point where she was coughing up blood and her pulse ox was dangerously low. On July 11, she was admitted to the ICU where she was diagnosed with pneumonia in both of her lungs. Over the last week she's been fighting to very hard stay off a ventilator. All of the coughing has damaged her ribs, but she's fighting the best she can so she can someday see her three boys. She has a long road to recovery and is expected to be in the hospital for at least another 3 weeks at a minimum.

At home, her husband Marty is also sick and the fever and fatigue has been bone crushing. It's touch and go with him as he started to cough up blood this morning. The EMS were called, checked him out, and medicine has been prescribed. So far, he's convalescing at home. We hope he stays that way and gets better.

If you know Linda and Marty, they have three kids. Their 10-year old, Lincoln, has special needs and caring for him takes a lot of energy and is a full-time job. With both of them out of commission and fighting to get better, who is taking care of the kids? For now, Marty's sister has flown in from North Carolina to assist. She's taking all the precautions she can to stay healthy and not get sick. But she needs to go back to work soon. The only solution right now is home health since all kids were exposed.
