Help Support Nevin’s Recovery After a Tragic Accident

On Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, my cousin Nevin was in a devastating car accident that tragically claimed the lives of his two cousins who were in the front seat. Nevin survived but suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and is currently fighting in the ICU.

Doctors have diagnosed him with a diffuse axonal injury, which is a serious form of brain trauma, with widespread bleeding throughout his brain tissue. The most extensive damage is on the part of the brain responsible for memory and motor control. At the moment, Nevin remains in critical condition with a breathing tube, feeding tube, and a bolt to monitor the pressure inside his skull. On top of everything, he has developed a blood clot in his thigh, which doctors are closely monitoring and may treat with a filter to prevent further complications.

Despite the heartbreak and uncertainty, we are holding onto hope. On June 25th, Nevin showed his first purposeful movement since the accident by reaching across his chest in response to a stimulus, this is a huge step that gives us strength and faith as we face the long road ahead.

This GoFundMe is to help alleviate the financial burden of Nevin’s extended hospitalization, treatments, and the unknowns that come with brain injury recovery. It will also support his loved ones, as they take time away from work to be by his side every step of the way.
