Help stop Sewer Lien Foreclosure
Donation protected
A 71 year old man living on income below the poverty level is being foreclosed on by the Water Pollution Control Authority for charges that have built up over the years which he disputes and were burdensome for him to pay. The charges which total approximately $3,300 were secured by a lien on the property but that wasn't enough for the WPCA. They decided to initiate foreclosure proceeding against the home and sole asset of this elderly man who can't afford to make the $500 monthly payments they want. Since institution of the foreclosure they have tacked on another almost $2,000.00 in legal costs and fees. My Rabbi brought the plight of this man to my attention but I can't do it alone. I'm hopeful that if enough of us get together we can help him out. The attorney for the WPCA said he would hold off on the foreclosure temporarily if he knows we are trying to raise the money.
