*Update*
As many of you know while I have been taking care of my mom my grandpa's health has declined. As my mom continues on her healing journey I am now taking care of my grandpa as well. I have returned to work for the time being as part time to be able to help as much as I can with my grandpa. Those who know us well know that my grandpa is my favorite person and I have been extremely lucky to have built such a close and amazing bond with him. *Update*
As more test come back and we get more answers I wanted to give a update on what is going on. My mom was diagnosed with Staph in her blood stream and sepsis. One of the main focuses is also a transplant. This will be days of test ran to see where we are at and to start looking for donors. I am very thankful of my job to be able to have FMLA in order to take care of my mom, with that being said I only get so many weeks. With everything going on I will be running out of FMLA and will unfortunately run the risk of losing my job. As I said before we understand people may not be able to donate but we appreciate the prayers and support.
As most of you know my name is Shelby, I am the oldest child to my mom Sherry. On Saturday July 6th she started to not feel well and decided it was a good idea to get checked out. Upon arriving at the hospital they immediately started on blood work. Her results came back and her hemoglobin (blood count) was critically low. She was immediately admitted into the ICU. She was diagnosed with staph infection in her blood stream. As she has started to feel a little better there is still a lot of unknown with this and what exactly is causing the blood loss. She has a long road ahead for recovery and is still undergoing a lot of testing. Most of you that know us know that we lost my step/her husband in November of 2023 due to cancer. Our family has been thrown a lot of challenges but we are doing our best to stay positive and keeping looking into the future. Everyone that knows our family knows that we are not ones to normally ask for help. We understand that times are very hard for everyone and we are happy to just have prayers sent our way. Due to all of this I am on unpaid FMLA to make sure I am available to take care of my mom (my best friend). This has been made to help with our every day bills along with the hospital bills that will be starting to come in.
