We have started a Go Fund Me page to cover the cost of theater rentals for screening our film in order to benefit participating Horse Rescues.

My name is Theresa Demarest, and I am a filmmaker for our small independent film studio at Joshua Records, LLC, in Portland, Oregon. My latest Award-winning feature film is Throw Away Horses (www.throwawayhorses.com). This documentary sheds light on the thousands of horses that get caught every year in a trap of human neglect, despair, and greed. From the horse racing industry to large and small breeders, down to the individual owner, when a horse is seen as merely a tool or commodity, there is little legal protection or resources for the unwanted horse. The film follows the stories of brave horses and the courageous people working tirelessly to help save them, educate owners and industry leaders, and bring about community and governmental change. I am seeking funding to help horse rescues screen the film in their local area theaters to help raise funds for their rescue. Theater rentals can be as high as $1500.
