Help Save My Dog From Aggressive Melanoma
Donation protected
This week I received the call no pet companion wants to get - my dog Holly's biopsy came back positive for aggressive melanoma. Thankfully I also found out we caught it early enough that she can be cured with surgery and a melanoma vaccine. I said yes immediately even after I learned the price for treatment would be between $14,000-17,000. Pre-op and surgery alone will run $8,100-10,680. The miracle vaccine that will keep Holly's melanoma from spreading costs $1,300 per dose. She'll need 4 doses two weeks apart and one dose every six months after that for the rest of her life.
The Hollywood Strikes have left me without those resources to treat Holly. I work as a film editor and that work dried up in May. My unemployment benefits end in November. And it's likely I won't work again until January or February at the earliest. I've budgeted for that eventuality, but not for $14-17K in vet oncology treatments that will save Holly's life.
I've had Holly since she was 6 months old, she's the dog my ex-husband and I shared from marriage, we adopted her two months before both my parents died. She’s my last living, beautiful link to another life.
I can't imagine not doing everything possible to save her. The thought I couldn't because of the lingering strikes is devastating.
So I need your help. Any amount, no matter how small, would be appreciated. Raising even half the amount would go a long way to towards her recovery.
I can’t express how much your support means to me and Holly. Together, we can give her a chance to keep living a full and happy life. Please consider donating and sharing our story with your friends and family. Your kindness and compassion will make a world of difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of Holly’s journey to recovery.
