Maya is my 8-year-old pug and my emotional support animal. She has been by my side since she was a puppy, always offering comfort and unconditional love. Two days ago, Maya started bleeding from her mouth and became very weak. She refused to eat or drink, only wanting to stay close to me and rest. Because I had to work, my boyfriend Michael rushed her to B Street Veterinary Hospital in San Diego. The veterinarians discovered that Maya had dangerously low blood platelets and her blood cell levels were dropping quickly. On Tuesday, her blood cell count was 40, but by today, it had fallen to 19. The hospital explained that if her blood cells drop to 15, her organs could begin to shut down. They recommended an urgent blood transfusion to save her life. The cost of the transfusion and her care is overwhelming, and I am reaching out for help. Maya is not just a pet—she is my family and my emotional support. I am terrified of losing her and am doing everything I can to give her a fighting chance. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly to Maya’s emergency care and help her recover. I am so grateful for your kindness and support during this difficult time. Thank you for helping me save Maya.
