Help Saraya Harris Rebuild After Tragic Loss

Hi, my name is Saraya Harris and I've been a caregiver for the last 5 years for both my parents. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and my father was diagnosed with ALS in the middle of COVID. After almost 2 years of fighting, my mom passed away in the summer of 2021. I would drive two hours to provide care for her every day even though I had siblings that lived much closer. I put my life on hold to take care of her with cancer. Once she was gone, my dad with ALS had no one. So I sold my house and moved him to Milwaukee so I could take care of him. Over the last 5 years, he had declined. Starting with falls, and other pieces of his independence he had lost until he was a quadriplegic. Before I knew it, I was in a caregiving role for a dying parent once again. My dad fought tooth and nail to fight the various battles that come with ALS and I was there for him 100% of the way. He lost his battle with ALS, April 30th at 6am. I am lost. I am now an orphan at 30 years old and I’m once again reminded that life isn't fair. I am once again planning a funeral for a parent.
