Help Sarah Meital Get to the World’s Top Art School

Hi, I’m Sarah Meital Benjamin, an Israeli artist and filmmaker from Jerusalem.

My work explores collective identities, youth countercultures, and Jewish personhood. My film Arava, shot in Jerusalem, premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and was nominated for Best International Film. My portrait photo series Terminus, capturing the unseen life of Tel Aviv’s abandoned bus terminal, won the prestigious Albert Londres Prize in 2023.

I’ve built my career in art and film spaces entirely on my own, without a formal education—I never even graduated high school. But earlier this year, I took a leap and applied for higher education—something no one in my family has ever had the privilege to pursue. To my shock, I was accepted into the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London, the best art school in the world, for their Contemporary Art Practice MA program.

Anyone who follows my work knows I am a distinct voice—always advocating for nuance, hybrid identities, and Jewish self-representation in spaces where these perspectives are often missing. Now, I have the chance to bring that voice to the very center of the global art world.

I urgently need help covering tuition, relocation, and visa costs to make this dream a reality.
