Dominique is raising funds for Sam Rivera, a friend an employee who has finally been released after spending 9 months in ICE detention. Sam even had a proper asylum visa which is no longer recognized. Before he was detained in January, Sam had worked incredibly hard to build a small home renovation business in South Florida. While he was detained, his business dried up, his car was repossessed, and he lost the essential tools he relied on to make a living. He was also transferred to California, where he endured months of extremely difficult circumstances far from home, work, and community.
Now that Sam has been released, he is facing the painful reality of starting over. The legal work that helped his release has left him with $10,000 in immigration legal fees, and after months without income, he is trying to rebuild from almost nothing. Support from this fundraiser will help cover legal fees, replace the tools he needs to work, and help with immediate expenses as he gets back on his feet and works to rebuild his renovation business. Any support helps. If you are able to give, thank you for standing with Sam during this difficult chapter. If you cannot contribute, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much. Thank you for helping give Sam a fresh start.
