Ryland’s Top Surgery Expenses

I’m super excited to announce I’m getting gender confirmation surgery(top surgery) at the end of this month in Austin, TX!! It’s been a long time coming. A lifetime of dreaming, waiting, and thinking I didn’t deserve this. I’m finally here, and I honestly can’t believe it! Throughout this whole process I’ve had to fight the belief that I’m not allowed to be happy. But I am.

I’ve prepared as much as I can financially. I have the surgery, hotel, travel, meals, and post op necessities covered. But I will be out of work for 5-6 weeks with only partial pay and my partner Beth has to take off work for at least two weeks without pay to be there with me. We have almost all bases covered but could really use some assistance to make sure we’ll be financially stable when we get back.

I’d been resisting making a Gofundme, hoping we’d be more prepared, and because it’s scary putting my story out there as a trans person. It’s vulnerable. But I’m choosing to release the fear and trust that my emotional security will be ok. This surgery will change my life for the better and I’m so thankful I have access to it.
