Help Russ Heal

Dear friends & Island family of Russ & AnnMarie!
This August, Russ was diagnosed with colon cancer. He's likely been struggling with this for a while, and his health has suffered.
He received surgery on Wednesday August 30th in Seattle at Swedish and has been recovering in the hospital. His family, AnnMarie, Mali & Martin are all with him.
The surgery went pretty well, and the surgeons were able to remove all of the mass. They haven't gotten all of their test results back yet, but we'll keep you posted.
Russ has been in good spirits, being his usual self, cracking jokes and making everyone feel better. From the beginning of his diagnosis has been determined to fight this thing with all his might!
Russ & AnnMarie are going to recuperate in Sequim at Russ' sister Sue's place for the next few weeks after he gets out of the hospital.
No matter what the test results are, Russ is going to be out of work for a good long while (probably a year), and the family will need help with the costs of travel, treatment & loss of income.
Russ & AnnMarie would appreciate any and all community support at this tough time.
This account has been set up for them so that they can have financial help, but once they return home there will be other ways to help. They'll need support with meals, rides, recycling and other chores. If you're a local YOU CAN ALSO DONATE TO THEM DIRECTLY AT ISLANDER'S BANK under Russ' name.
We'll keep updating y'all here, and have a sign-up sheet for meals and help of all kinds when they return home.
For now, your good vibes, love, healing thoughts & prayers would be much appreciated.
Thank you for being a great community for Russ' and his family!
