Rose, born in Ghana, is a hard-working early childhood educator now living in Edmonton, Canada where she runs a successful private bilingual English/French daycare --teaching and nurturing young children all year round.

Rose is now on a mission to raise funds that will help reduce the cost of education at her new Rosemont Bilingual School in Ghana. Rosemont Billingual school provides quality daycare and preschool education up to Grade 6--tailored to the Canadian curriculum.

Renting a building for the school has been very expensive since payment is required as an annual lump sum in US dollars, making it hard to spread the small budget throughout the year. Rose believes that with your help, building a school on a piece of land that she already owns will significantly reduce the cost of school fees for parents and stabilize better pay for the staff. Currently, the fees per student are high--many parents eager to enroll their children in the program cannot afford it, and some registered students find it hard to maintain fees.

The quality of education in Ghana has been lacking, save in a few private schools which charge exorbitant rates that automatically exclude most local parents from accessing good education for their children. Often, it is expatriates and wealthy families that can afford to send their children to such an expensive school. Rose wants to do it differently, provide affordable quality education in her community--making it possible for more parents to send their children to her school and receive good education and care.

Hiring staff for special needs children is also something that Rose needs. Right now, two Special needs children in the school require specialized teachers to teach and attend to them so that they can grow and learn at the same pace as the other students; however, it has been a challenge because of a limited number of teachers that have little to no experience with special needs children.

Lastly, the funds collected through GoFundme will help start a sustainable farming scheme, a school farm, on the same land to produce fresh, healthy food for the school and generate a little more income to offset costs. Poultry and common food crops are some of the farming ideas that Rose has in mind for the school.
