Help Rohan Eastley Get to the Boccia Nationals
Donation protected
Rohan Eastley is an athlete with cerebral palsy. He lives in Deloraine, Tasmania. Rohan plays the sport of boccia at a high level. This is an article about Rohan competing in last year's Boccia Tasmania championships. (https://www.meandervalleygazette.org/articles/2022-6/vxh4j23afagpsfqunbsvy8nzbigf3j)
Later this year, Rohan is off to the Australian National Championships in Brisbane (and then hopefully to the Paralympics!). However, Rohan plays with an old wooden ramp and he simply can't be competitive against the best in Australia (or, fingers crossed, the best in the world!) unless he upgrades to a modern boccia ramp. And modern ramps are eye-wateringly expensive. Below are two photos of Rohan (on the right) playing at the Boccia Tasmania championships against athletes with modern ramps.
The ramp Rohan needs is approx AU$7000 (it comes from the US so the price changes every day). Rowan has so far raised $2000 from his extended family, $1000 from his own savings, and $500 from the Deloraine Lions Club. He needs to raise an additional $3500. If you can help Rowan raise the additional funds he needs, it would sure be special. For more information, please feel free to contact me (Anthony) and I will pass your questions on to Rohan.
Heartfelt thanks from Rohan Eastley and his family.
