At 12:30 this morning, my parents experienced a house fire that completely destroyed their garage and severely damaged their bedroom. While we are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out safely, the loss has been overwhelming for our entire family, including the animals who also call this home, and my younger sister and brother who live there full-time.

The garage was more than just a space. It held many of my dad’s most cherished memories. It was where he fixed cars alongside his friends (some who are no longer with us), where he bought us mini tool stations so we could “help him work,” and where he spent countless hours teaching us, laughing with us, and making memories that can never be replaced. It was also the place where my dad got ready for his wedding almost 20 years ago, surrounded by friends and family before one of the most important days of his life (pictured below). That space, and everything in it, is now completely gone.

What makes this especially difficult is the kind of person my dad is. He has spent his entire life giving to others, always showing up when someone needs help, no matter where his own life is at. He is the person people call in times of need, and he never hesitates to offer his time, skills, or his heart.

Now, he is the one who needs help.

We are raising funds to support our family as they navigate immediate and ongoing needs, including temporary housing, repairs, replacing essential belongings, and expenses insurance may not fully cover. This support will also help provide stability for my younger siblings and ensure the animals in the home are cared for as our family works to rebuild.
