My father Lonnie was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He currently lives alone in a small basement apartment in Washington that isn't accessible for a wheelchair. Since August 2025, my husband and I have been in Washington caring for him, but we know he needs more support and a safer living environment. Our home in Ohio is accessible and offers more space, so we're planning to relocate him there. With us and his best friends by his side, he'll have 24/7 care and companionship.

The funds raised will help cover the moving costs to bring Lonnie to Ohio, where he can be surrounded by loved ones and receive the care he needs. We lost Mom five years ago to breast cancer, and Lonnie doesn't have anyone in Washington who can provide the level of care his condition requires. ALS has an average life expectancy of 2 to 5 years, and our goal is to keep him as comfortable and supported as possible for as long as we can.
