If you know Joe Klee, you already know. You know how he lights up a room without trying, that his smile is contagious, and that he makes whoever he is talking to feel like the most important person there. A devoted husband, father of four, 'Uncle Joe' to 18(!), Little League coach, proud alum of Cardinal Gibbons High School and the University of Florida, Buffalo Bills fan, and generally always up for a bike ride. People feel lucky just knowing him. And in May of 2026 we learned he has ALS.

Just a month after his 47th birthday (celebrated with a backyard BBQ and a new bike) Joe was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting all voluntary muscles. This is a terminal diagnosis with no known cure.

Married 15 years, Joe and his wife Brenda, a nurse practitioner, are raising four charming kids (ages two, six, eight, and 10). This family is generous and loving, and deeply woven into the fabric of their close-knit community.

As Joe and Brenda's family and closest friends, we are still very much reeling from this diagnosis. To put it plainly, we are scared. But we are also full of faith, both in God and in our extraordinary community. This is not the future we planned or prayed for, but we will meet it together, with strength.

Joe and Brenda have always been careful, intentional savers. But ALS carries financial consequences that most families cannot navigate alone, and we are humbly asking for your help. Funds raised here will be used to offset the costs of medical expenses and therapies, cover unexpected financial strain and support their children's education.
