Help prevent eviction of my 8 and 10 girls
Donation protected
Hi my name is Mike. I am a single dad with primary custody of two amazing little girls aged 10 & 8. In the Spring of 2021 their mother (my ex) was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and hospitalized. We were separated at that time and this began several years where I was solely responsible for the girls and financially supporting my ex; including paying for her extensive mental health treatment post hospitalization - this lasted 18 months.
When we finalized the divorce, we sold our property and I gave all the proceeds to my ex so she had a chance to get on her feet. She was able to purchase a home outright allowing her to minimize monthly expenses since she is still challenged with effectively working. I needed her to be independent and trust in my ability to make money then build back a financial cushion.
Obviously during this time, my financial cushion has been wiped out. I own a consulting business, primarily working with Startup companies and thus far in 2024, business has been slow; but even worse is the slow pay and late payment of client invoices - I currently have $6,804 outstanding invoices with clients I am unsure when I will receive payment.
Thus far in 2024 I have been late paying rent each month and the corporate landlord has filed to evict my family if I am not able to get the monthly $3550 along with $881 in legal fees paid by mid-month. My credit has been decimated. I don't have a wealthy family I can turn to for help. I just need a little break to catch up on outstanding invoices and get out from under the threat of eviction. I humbly ask for any support you can provide. Thank you.
