Help Nataley get back on her feet
In the early morning of August 7th, my 17 year old sister Nataley was the backseat passenger in a bad car accident in our little home town of Gustavus, Alaska. Her 2 best friends were also in the car and thankfully walked away without physical damage. However, the accident resulted in multiple injuries for my sister and she had to be airlifted to anchorage right away. These injuries including a collapsed lung, broken ribs, and a spinal injury. The day after the accident she had a procedure to fix her spinal damage, but is still yet to gain back any feeling below her bellybutton.
Nataley has remained strong, determined, and a true inspiration to those closest to her through all of this. If anyone can get through something like this, it is her.
I am starting this GoFundMe to 1) help ensure that Nataley is set up to be as independent and self sufficient as possible with this long road to recovery. and 2) help my parents cover living expenses as they are both needing the time off of work to be with Nataley right now and for the foreseeable future.
This has been a tough couple of weeks for the girls involved in the accident, and all of the people who love and care about them. Our big hope is that we can all take this as a learning experience and reminder that one second, one decision, and one bad call can change your life and the lives of so many around you forever. Drinking and driving is NEVER worth it.
We remain hopeful that Nataley will make a full recovery in time, she most definitely has the attitude to make it happen! Our family appreciates the outpouring of love and thoughtful words we have received since the accident.
Everything helps at this point, even just taking the time to hit the share button.
Thank you all for the love and support!
