Hello, I’m Carl Smith, the son of Janice Riggins. On April 7th, 2025, my Mom was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident that resulted in the breaking of all five of her lumbar vertebrae. The physical and emotional toll of this accident has been devastating, and while her job is secure, it unfortunately does not offer short-term disability benefits. She has been out of work ever since-with no income-while facing mounting medical expenses, transportation costs (Lyft to and from appointments), and daily living bills.

As we all know, life doesn't pause for recovery-bills continue to come in, even when healing is the priority.

My Mom is currently undergoing physical therapy and working hard toward regaining her strength in hopes of returning to work soon. She is the sole provider of our family and has always taken pride in being able to care for others. This has been the first time in her life where she's been unable to do so, and it's taken a deep emotional toll.

She's not the type to ask for help, which is why l've created this GoFundMe on her behalf. She's always been a giver-strong, hardworking, and selfless. Now, she's the one in need of support, and we are asking for any help you can offer.
