Help Michal with the early stages of paraplegia
Donation protected
Michal is 27 years old and this month had a tree fall on him whilst working in a forest in Germany.
The tree crushed his chest, spine and leg. His spinal cord has also been completely severed from the navel down leaving him a paraplegic.
At the time of writing Michal has been in a coma for 17 days. His lungs have been severely damaged and need to be stabilized before waking him up. Incredibly his brain received impact but seems to be uninjured.
Adding to the situation Michal does not have any parents. His sister Slava and brother in law travelled to Australia prior to the accident and are in the process of returning but at the moment he is on his own.
Hopefully, being a work accident, insurance will step in to cover a large portion of the costs however expert advice suggests this will take up to two years. We are appealing to any of Michal's friends, colleagues or any of the many many people Michal has helped over the years to contribute anything they can - no matter how small - to the ever growing costs associated with his recovery and transition into his new albeit very different life.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you on Michal's behalf
