Hello, my name is Gerald Hoyte Inman, Jr. and I am the father of Melodia Grace Dias Inman. Upon traveling to Cape Verde, West Africa, she contracted a serious meningitis bacterial infection. This sickness was followed by a series of traumatizing episodic seizures. Melodia is suffering and in great pain and more than anything else, we just want to bring her home, back to the USA.
In order to assure she receives the best medical care, our family intends on putting her on an emergency ambulance flight so she can be transported from West Africa back to Boston Children's Medical Center. As you can imagine, transportation and the personalized care that she will need can be very costly. She has currently been sedated for 3 days now while the antibiotics work their magic. She has lost her ability to speak and independently function on her own. We are prayerful that in time she will regain function, but only time will tell if there is any long-term brain damage.
Your heartfelt donation will give our family the means to be able to bring her back safe and sound and acquire the necessary resources to support her recovery. The aircraft service will cost somewhere around $150,000, and the additional fees for care could range much higher depending on the severity of her condition. I am a man of faith and strength, and I believe she will push through. It is with your unwavering support that I am sure we, as family, friends, and a community who loves connection and support, can save Melodia's life by a simple gesture that can make a drastic impact on her livelihood. Every dollar counts, and your thoughts and prayers can stretch much further than you could possibly imagine.
