Help Me Reach the Finish Line

As I approach the final weeks of my Professional Counselling Diploma, I'm reaching out to my community for a little support to help me cross the finish line.

For years, I've worked hard to support myself while also giving back to our Sunshine Coast community. During COVID, I provided home cooked meals through my small meal preparation business, something I've continued to offer over the years. Today, I also work caring for seniors in our community while completing my education and building toward a career in counselling.

It's been a busy few years, balancing work, school, assignments, supervised counselling hours, and now my final practicum. I'm incredibly proud of how far I've come, but financially, this last stretch has been challenging.

My student loan funding has ended, and with the unpaid hours required to complete my diploma, I've had limited time to earn enough to cover my basic living expenses. With graduation coming in early November, I'm so close to finishing something I've poured so much of myself into.

Asking for help doesn't come naturally to me. I've always been someone who works hard, finds a way forward, and does my best to support others. But I'm also learning that sometimes we need to allow ourselves to receive the same kindness and support we so freely give.

Any contributions will go directly toward rent, groceries, and essential living expenses while I finish my practicum and transition into the next chapter of my career.

I know times are financially difficult for so many people, and I don't want anyone to feel pressured to donate. Sharing this fundraiser, offering encouragement, or simply sending some positive energy my way means a great deal.

I'm looking forward to continuing to serve this community in a new way, bringing together my experience supporting seniors, my passion for human connection, and everything I've learned throughout my counselling education.
