My name is Chase Gray. I’m a 26-year-old soccer player from Sacramento, California, and I’m about to embark on an exciting new chapter in my academic and athletic career, but only with your help. After taking a long break from my sport to deal with some personal life challenges, I’ve recently been accepted to a Division 3 college, where I’ve been offered a spot on their competitive soccer team. I am here today – on my 26th birthday – asking for a donation to help me pay for this wonderful opportunity.
It’s a huge opportunity for me; soccer is my favorite thing in the world, and this college team position represents a) the return of an activity in my life that brings me joy and motivation, as well as b) a direction for my life that deeply inspires me. The thing is, the only way I can see it through is if I can raise some funds to help me cover some initial costs of this important next step.
School can be costly – there’s tuition, room and board, textbooks, food, fees, and countless other expenses. Luckily, through scholarships, financial aid, and loans, I’m able to take care of a big portion of the bill. Plus I’m getting a job on campus, and my parents are doing what they can to chip in. I’m reaching out today for help in covering what remains after all that. Here’s basically what it boils down to:
Sports Medical Insurance - $1,500
Round trip Plane ticket from California to Virginia - $1000
Housing Deposit - $200
Initial tuition costs - $2300
