Help me get a car to improve my life

Hello. If you don’t know me my name is Randal Fisher. I’m a saxophone player based in Los Angeles. I’ve played music for about 21 years now and I consider myself extremely lucky and blessed to have had access to the resources and mentors that allowed me to make my living with my instruments for all this time. I’ve been able to maintain my job as a musician in Los Angeles with no car by getting to my gigs and recording sessions with the advent of Uber, using public transportation, and the love and camaraderie of my peers in the music community for all this time which as I’m sure you might know can be a very challenging endeavor as living in a city as wide spread as Los Angeles, any job with no car can be a challenge but having a job that requires you to be at different locations in the city at any given day can be a significant challenge.
The reason I’m starting a go fund me is so that I can rent a car from Uber and begin driving people and delivering food through Uber eats. This year I am undergoing significant changes to my life and it has affected my ability to get through each month to pay my bills as a musician. I need another job to supplement my income and after looking for this new job it has become clear to me that not having any other form of work experience outside of being a musician at my age is hindering that goal. Driving for Uber will allow me to have flexible work hours so that I can still continue to do what I love to do while also having another method of making money. As a working musician, for too long I’ve had to contend with gigs suddenly getting canceled, not getting paid the money I was told the gig was paying and even sometimes going to a gig after being told you would get paid a certain amount only to be told after the gig itself that there is no money to pay me anymore for different reasons. This is no longer sustainable for me to keep a roof over my head. I need help.
If you are able to donate to this cause, I will be able to make more money and keep my home but also having a car will immediately improve every other aspect of my life on and off the stage. With a car I will be allowed a freedom I have not ever had. A very large part of being a musician is being present at many events around the city that take place within the music community and for years I have a had to miss out on so many of these events because I knew they were either too far away and the Uber home would be too expensive, or it’s too late and the public transportation in the city will stop for the night rendering me unable to get home safely. For all this time as a musician with no car in LA, I have only really been able to leave my house unless I’m making money which means that there have been countless jam sessions, networking opportunities and much more that I have had to miss simply because I won’t have a way back home.
Another reason that I believe having a car will improve my life is that it will give a place to work on my music also known as practicing my instruments in another place outside my apartment. I disturb everyone in my apartment so much when I do my daily practicing to the point that I get so many complaints that I can’t work on my craft in the best way that I know I need to to improve my skills which will lead to bigger and better opportunities for myself. Having a car would be akin to having my very own mobile practice room that I plan on utilizing to the fullest extent and you and everyone who would hear me play would notice significant improvement in how I play my instruments. That’s my promise to you if can help me pay for this, better quality and more consistent concerts with my band and other bands that I work in.
Through Uber and the company that they use to lease cars to their employees, Hive, I have found a car that would help me accomplish this goal. What I need is the funds to pay the reservation deposit,$99, insurance, and the first payment of the lease which is $169. I don’t know how much the insurance will be yet which is why I set the the goal price at $400.
Your contribution to my fund could give me a new financial stability that I have been working toward for so long that I have not truly been able to achieve and maintain. It could save my life. The mental clarity of knowing that I can practice as early or late as I want and as loud as I want without disturbing anyone will relieve a stress that I have felt since I moved in my apartment. Knowing that between gigs I can work my second job to allow myself to pay for my bills and utilities will immediately improve everything for me.
