Aloha, my name is Stan Zajac and my parents have lived on Maui (Lahaina)for over 23 years and are parishioners at Maria Lanakila in Lahaina and Sacred Hearts mission in Kapalua. Despite the complete and devastating destruction of Old Town Lahaina, Maria Lanakila Church was relatively untouched (somehow) except for the grade school itself. It was destroyed and ALL contents lost.

I witnessed the chaos in Lahaina when bringing my mother (83 years young) back just after the tragedy struck the town. We lived out of a car for three days but that does not remotely compare to the tragedies others have and continue to face. This Go Fund Me is to raise the money to fund/purchase basic school necessities such as desks, supplies and teaching aids so the children can return to a temporary learning facility while the school is rebuilt.

They are not asking for much, just the basics to get the children back into a classroom setting and some small piece of normalcy amid a horrible community tragedy. All funds over the goal will be donated to the parish/school to further assist those in need within the community.
