Help Macie with alternative brain tumor therapy

Meet Macie! She is a young girl that is losing her battle to brain cancer; she has been fighting since she was 6 months old. Her entire life!!! They have given this precious child a month to a year to live and that is not acceptable . The doctors have tried all they are trained to do and it’s time to look at some options that have not been exhausted yet. Unfortunately her family is a two parent working home with minimal resources and these alternative medicines will be out of pocket. The goal is to afford them an opportunity to try things they haven’t been able to as well as take some much needed time off from work to spend time with Macie as she goes through this struggle to fight a little longer. Here is a message from Macie’s mother Sharon when I asked for a basic run down of Macie’s story:

 

“Whew! That's a long story. Where do I begin??

Macie was diagnosed with an inoperable Brain tumor at 6 months old. She has gone through 8 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 failed clinical trials, radiation and a partial tumor resection. Because of the tumor Macie is completely blind. Macie has never gone more than 6 months without some sort of treatment. Her tumor has grown causing mass effect in the brain. Due to the pressure put on the brain stem Macie has had a hard time,.swallowing, walking, and talking. Her body will make jerky movements due to the mass. She had no control over any of this. Recently, Macie was hospitalized due to tumor progression. She finished 6 weeks of invasive radiation in March which was a last resort. We were hoping the radiation would give us more time. It only gave us 6 months. As of right now more surgery is not an option and we agreed to more chemotherapy in hopes of getting more time. The chemotherapy she's on may or may not work. We have made an appointment with an alternative medicine clinic to talk with them about natural meds. That is out of pocket as insurance doesn't cover that. We just spent $250 just to book an appointment. We are desperate and trying to find something to give us more time. Quality of life is important to us as well. We also both work and don't know how we will pay for things when we have to start taking time off due to her condition worsening. Through all of this Macie has never complained. She is a happy and sweet girl. We aren't ready to lose our daughter. It's so out of our control though. God has given  her to me and now he wants to take her back. I'm selfish ! I don't want to give her back.”
