Hi there! My name is Lucky, and I’m reaching out with a humble request during a challenging time. Over the past year, life has been anything but predictable. In 2023, I underwent major heart surgery to repair my mitral valve. While the surgery was life-saving, the financial aftermath has been overwhelming. I wasn’t able to stay home to properly recover because I didn’t qualify for Wisconsin’s Temporary Disability program and simply didn’t have the funds to take time off. I had no choice but to keep working, and that left me falling behind on bills.

Since then, I’ve been doing my best to catch up, but the cost of just about everything—rent, groceries, gas, and even my cats’ food—has steadily crept up. Despite my best efforts to secure a second part-time job, things haven’t worked out yet. My current income from working at a local coffee shop and pursuing my creative passions simply isn’t enough to keep up with these rising expenses.

My rent, utilities, car payment, health insurance, groceries, and other essentials leave me stretched too thin. Even my two beloved cats, who are my family and constant source of joy, need food that now costs more than ever before.

That’s why I’m asking for your help. I’m aiming to raise $5,000 to cover the costs of essentials, catch up on overdue bills, and have a safety net as I continue to search for additional work.
