Be Loud: Your Voice Is Your Power
Help Emily and Cyndi launch Be Loud!
Emily was sexually abused as a child. Cyndi was physically abused in her marriage. For too many years, they lost their voices. The shame, fear, anger, and isolation placed them in a cone of silence. Internal thoughts of “not me”, “who would even believe me?”, “what would happen next?”, “will I be in trouble?” kept them quiet.
After 8 years of silence, Emily bravely shared her story with the authorities. Cyndi never shared her story. Emily’s offender was sentenced to four years in prison.
Even still, Emily was called to do more. To help more. To speak more. She refused to allow her experience to define her and remain quiet. Emily’s voice has gotten louder and louder. She gives presentations to high schoolers sharing the tools she wished she had when she was experiencing abuse. She just might have shared her story sooner and helped others avoid the same abuse she experienced.
For the past three years, Emily has been speaking to high schoolers. She is creating a safe space for others who have experienced abuse to find their voice and boldly step into their power and teaching peers how to provide support for each other. She is changing the stigma and shining a light on the cycle of abuse.
After each presentation, someone has shared their abuse story with Emily. After 6 presentations this year, 10 survivors have shared their story.
And now, Cyndi is ready to share her story.
They have now come together to prevent abuse. No more acceptance of just “faculty trainings and new handbooks” as a method of prevention and changing abusers’ behaviors.
They are launching their new nonprofit, Be Loud.
Why They Need You
Too many voices have been silenced for too long.
They are currently in the early stages of launching Be Loud and pursuing 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. But they can’t wait until the paperwork is done to start changing lives—they’re moving now, and they need your support to fuel this mission forward.
What Your Donation Will Support:
- Filing our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status
- Building out our resource hub and survivor education tools
- Launching support programs and community connection spaces
- Providing training for advocates, allies, and professionals
- Creating a platform where stories can be told and heard without shame
This isn’t just a nonprofit. This is a movement. A revolution. A legacy in the making. And you can be part of it.
This work is urgent. This work is necessary. And they will not stop.
Your voice is your power. And your support is their momentum.
Let’s be loud—together.
