Hello everyone, my name is Shelley and I'm trying to raise money for my best friend of 40 years, Kris Boyett. She is truly a remarkable person, and desperately needs our help with medical bills.

Kris is only 57 years-old, but had to retire from Decatur Police Department due to medical reasons. She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Rheumatoid Arthritis years ago which shut down her endocrin and lymphatic systems. The RA has attacked Kris's joints, forcing several surgeries in the last few years. She lives with excruciating pain every day of her life, but still keeps a positive attitude.

Kris needs both hips and knees replaced, and has an issue with her spine. She was told recently that the surgeries are no longer an option due to a variety of factors. She has applied for Medicaid and was denied. I am asking for anyone that can to please donate to assist this remarkable, loving woman. Kris has always been the type of person to help anyone that needed it, regardless of her circumstances. Now, she needs our help so that she can receive the care she needs. Kris has worked hard all of her life helping others, now she needs our help. PLEASE, donate whatever you can so that this amazing woman can receive the care she needs.

Kris is a 28+ year Captain with a Police Department in Georgia. She was forced to retire due to the debilitating effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis. The damage to her joints has left her confined to a wheelchair, unable to walk or stand. Unfortunately, her retirement was just over a year early from being eligible for full retirement benefits. With the decrease in income and the increased medical expenses, Kris and her family have been struggling to get the care and equipment desperately needed.

Due to having to have a power wheelchair, the family vehicle cannot transport it, nor can Kris get in and out of a vehicle’s seat. Therefore, she must travel via an accessible van. These are extremely expensive to rent as well as difficult to find availability when needed. Numerous doctor and dentist appointments have had to be canceled or rescheduled due to lack of transportation. In addition, the side effects of the medication as well as the disease itself have caused severe dental issues that are not covered by insurance. Kris is now only able to consume soft foods or liquids.

We are asking for any financial assistance in order for Kris to get the care and treatments she desperately needs. Funds will be used towards the dental care, medical equipment, and for the purchasing of a used rear-entry accessible van.
