Help Jennifer Beat the Beast of Cancer

This is Renee Benn and I am fundraising for my oldest friend Jennifer Sasek. Please take a minute and read her story.

Jennifer is a wife to Jeff and mom to 3 boys: Wyatt (23), Ethan (21) and Travis (15). On April 11th, Jennifer went to the ER with complaints of stomach pain and began a nightmare. After much testing and panic-filled days, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Sarcoma. This is the name of the beast she is determined to beat. She is 49 years old.

The news was devastating, numbing and outright shocking. In the weeks that followed, she has begun an extreme form of chemotherapy known as "the red devil" and has endured multiple trips to the hospital, most recently a 15-day stay to have a stent put in her kidney to help its functioning.

The chemotherapy is strong but it's also damaging her internally. Her husband Jeff has found and spoken to a non-profit organization called the "Beat Cancer Foundation" that has a cost-free program that focuses on strengthening the body to help fight the cancer in conjunction with the chemotherapy. Although the program is free, the supplements and vitamins it prescribes are anything but.

They have never once asked for help in all the years they have cared for their handicapped son, Ethan, and they are not asking now. Her friends and I are aware of the cost of the program she is about to start and we want to help this woman that has spent her life advocating for her handicapped son and taking care of her family and show her that a mother's love is not done in shadows.
