Help Jason Lawrence Heal From Heart Failure
Donation protected
On July 9th, Jason Lawrence did something truly brave—he listened to his intuition and took himself to the ER after struggling to breathe and noticing a painful, distended abdomen. What happened next was alarming.
Upon arrival, hospital staff were stunned by his vitals: his blood pressure was a life-threatening 228/218 and his resting heart rate was 155 bpm. He was immediately rushed into care, surrounded by a team of doctors and nurses who began administering IV fluids, antibiotics, blood pressure meds, and blood thinners. He spent the next 13 hours in the ER enduring extreme pain, chest pressure, and difficulty breathing.
A CT scan revealed inflammation and edema concentrated in his torso. After several days of tests and uncertainty, doctors confirmed Jason was in active heart failure. One of his coronary arteries was 95% blocked, and his heart had already sustained 30% tissue damage—likely caused by an undetected elevated heart rate that began days earlier.
He underwent a stent procedure and a controlled shock to help restore heart function. He is now home, stable, and on a long-term cocktail of medications.
Thankfully, Jason’s employer, The Coin Slot, offers health insurance—but he’s still facing steep out-of-pocket costs and income loss while he recovers. That’s where we come in.
Jason is a giver. He’s shown up for this community time and again as a dedicated volunteer, a reliable friend, and someone who never hesitates to lend a hand. Now, he needs our help.
We’re raising $6,000 to help Jason cover his deductible and lost wages during this critical recovery time. Every donation—big or small—helps ease the burden and reminds Jason that he’s surrounded by people who care.
This is the Jason we know and love. Let’s help him get back there.
Thank you for supporting him with your generosity, love, and shares.
