edit: I just haven't been able to even process the kindness and generosity of this amazing web of people that have somehow reached out to let it be known that on any level at all, my wellness is important to them, and community care is important to them. "Thank you" doesn't begin to do it. This was an awful ride, but an easy one from which to center gratitude. I can't wait to be so freakin healthy.

My name is Jace Bartet and I just got home from five nights in the hospital after two emergency procedures; endoscopic removal of an infected gallstone from my bile duct, followed by full gallbladder removal surgery.

I live alone and am doing okay around the house, but could really use a hand with food and household bills due to work missed from the six day hospital stay and at least another week (possibly a month) spent recovering at home. Gift cards from grocery stores or food delivery services (although not a lot of local restaurants carry food I can eat) are welcome if you know me well enough to get me those things, as well as food itself (contact me for restrictions), but I thought I'd make this for anyone who prefers donating anonymously or would like to help with things like rent and the power bill.

Honestly, good vibes totally appreciated too. This was a terrifying experience and I feel lucky to be recovering well at home and that it wasn't worse. I'm naturally sheepish about making this fund but by the time they got a hospital gown on me, I'd been at a 10/10 on the pain scale for 17 hours, lost count of how many times I'd vomited (or dry-heaved saliva), had basically become a jaundice-induced Simpson from the freeflowing bile party, and toward the end had begun urinating blood.
