Soldiers of Tomorrow, the play I wrote with Colleen Murphy, is going to the Finborough Theatre in London! After winning the Lustrum Award in Edinburgh in 2023 the show got booked in several cities in Canada and in Europe, but after the Hamas attack on Oct 7th and the subsequent genocide in Gaza, the show got cancelled everywhere. In some cities it got cancelled from the left and in others from the right. A festival in Leipzig told me that they recently passed a law in Germany that every criticism of Israel is considered antisemitism so they can no longer present the show. An AD in Toronto told me that if he was to program the show he would get fired because they would lose all their Jewish donors. It took a long time to find someone brave enough to present the show but the Cultch in Vancouver and the Finborough Theatre in London came through, and the show will get remounted in May and June. Taking myself and my composer / musician Emad Armoush to London for a whole month is very expensive, and while we received one travel grant, we won't know about the second grant until May, which is a very precarious position to be in as a producer, which is why I've decided to start a go fund me campaign. I hope you can help, no amount is too small. Thank you in advance.
