Help Ilona recover from near fatal accident...

This past week, Ilona was involved in a near fatal motor vehicle accident.

Their injuries include:

Due to significant blood loss during treatment and a medical interruption, the stitching on their forehead was not completed in the initial hospital visit, meaning there will be a need for reconstructive surgery as the wound was not given proper care to start healing correctly. This wasn’t discovered until the bandages were removed 24 hours later by their mother under doctors instructions. In a follow up visit to a secondary hospital the doctor refused to stitch the remaining wounds as more than 12 hours had passed.

Ilona has been fitted with a soft spinal brace and is on a majority bed rest for the next month – 2 months. Further spinal injuries are suspected, unfortunately at this time will be non-visible on initial imaging until scar tissue develops often 5-7 days later (this will be reassessed at a follow up appointment this coming week) .

Ilona will be scheduled to a rehabilitation program once well enough and cleared by doctors to move on from bed rest when their body allows, and will remains under their mother’s care during this time.

Ilona is a powerful Two-Spirit voice and a celebrated Drag Artist. 


Much of their income comes from public speaking and performances, both of which rely heavily on their physical presence, energy, and appearance. This accident not only threatens their health but their livelihood.

This GoFundMe has been created to help cover monthly living costs during the first month – 2 month initial recovery and the many unexpected medical expenses that are not covered during this critical healing period.

We are incredibly grateful that Ilona survived this horrific event, their recovery will be lengthy, physically, emotionally, and financially hard/draining. As all who know Ilona is resilient, and we are walking this path with them.

Gas or uber expenses : to and from appointments $500.00

Any funds raised passed goal(s) will go toward reconstructive surgery costs that will come later down the line once the initial healing has taken place.
If we are able to meet the first month goal of 4100 the goal will update to 8100 to cover the second month of possible and expected healing time.
