Hello everyone,
With great sadness, our family has received devasting news. At the beginning of March 2022, my dad, Huan Tran, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with metastasis to his liver. He is currently being treated at MD Anderson Hospital, where he will be receiving chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor and ensure any microscopic metastases that have not been found in his CT scan are addressed. Once his tumor becomes smaller, he will undergo surgery to remove his colon and liver cancer.
Last year, my dad started to experience pain in his lower abdomen, and due to medical negligence, his pain was brushed off as irritable bowel syndrome. Even though he requested a colonoscopy, his primary care doctor told him he did not need it, despite his pain and age. The pain worsened as time passed, and he started to experience other symptoms, in response to my dad's frequent request, his doctor ordered a colonoscopy in February of 2022.
Anyone that knows my dad knows that he is always willing to give a helping hand to his friends and family and anyone in need. He is everyone's go-to person for fixing anything. For example, he could visit someone's house and fix a leak in their bathroom or tighten a wobbling chair without anyone asking. At the age of 60, he still helps others complete the most strenuous task, such as replacing tiles and making cabinets, and he asks for nothing in return.
We as a family, are reaching out near and far for financial help. This fundraiser is to help with medical and living expenses as he seeks treatment at MD Anderson. Every dollar will help support him by alleviating the financial burden of not working so he can focus on beating his cancer. If you are unable to donate, please pray for him and share his story. Thank you for taking the time to read his story, your love and support. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
