Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
With a heavy heart, I am preparing for the final days of my mom’s life. Mickey, as everyone knew and loved her, is currently on hospice. She has stopped eating and drinking and is nearing the end of her journey.
Mickey was the heart of our family. She loved baking delicious treats that brought everyone together, yard saling on weekends hunting for treasures, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her warmth, her laugh, and her generous spirit touched so many lives. Losing her will leave a tremendous void, especially after I already lost my husband to cancer in 2018.
Unfortunately, mom did not have life insurance or savings set aside for her final arrangements. We expect cremation and any related memorial costs to fall on the family. Without her monthly Social Security income of roughly $2,000, we will not be able to cover our basic bills (housing, utilities, groceries) while we prepare the house for sale and arrange our move. Selling a home and relocating takes time, and we need help bridging this critical gap so we can grieve without the immediate fear of losing our housing.
We are asking for support to help with:
Cremation and final expenses.
Ongoing monthly bills (~$2,000 per month) to keep us stable until the house sells.
Moving and transition costs once the sale is complete.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference and help us honor Mickey properly while keeping a roof over our heads during this painful transition. If you cannot give financially, sharing this page or sending a kind message would mean the world. We are so grateful for every prayer, thought, and act of kindness right now. Your support will allow us to focus on saying goodbye to Mickey and healing as a family, rather than being overwhelmed by financial stress.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Katrina, Lee and Family
