Help Hana Access Ease & Comfort During Recovery
Donation protected
Hi all!
My name is Sam Slupski, and I am writing this on behalf of Hana Yoshimoto. If you know Hana, you know they are an absolute ray of light that shows the hell up. They are kind, helpful, and extremely committed to community care. They live their values and encourage others to live theirs. They supported me in my own top surgery recovery, show up time and time again for their local and far communities, and care fervently for the people they love. I have had the gift of getting close to them over the last year and cheering them on as they pursue top surgery that is officially scheduled for May 29th, 2025.
As many know, getting top surgery not only requires funds for the procedure itself but also an additional buffer for recovery and, in Hana’s case, travel costs to the Bay Area, where their mom will care for them.
Hana is privileged to have access to insurance to help them cover part of the surgery cost, but as we know, the healthcare system does not favor gender-affirming care, so we are asking their community to support them for the remaining costs.
To feel resourced and prepared for top surgery recovery, they hope to raise $6000*.
The cost breakdown for this is:
• $4000 - surgery and associated fees
• $1200 - flights and lodging during recovery
• $800 - recovery supplies and pet sitter
*The goal was originally $5k, but was increased due to higher than anticipated fees for surgery, flights, and lodging.
Hana also wants to be transparent and name that they raised some money in 2021, all of which went to their rent when they were sick with COVID.
We all know that accessing gender-affirming care is life-saving. Hana deserves to be able to access this care. Let’s help them access the ease needed for this procedure.
