Help Gen get back on her feet after Breast Cancer & Injury

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

We are reaching out to ask for your support for Genevieve, a woman who has already fought through one of life’s hardest battles and is now facing another unexpected challenge. Genevieve was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35. What we thought was going to be a 6 month treatment was extended into two full years. During this time Gen did everything she could to keep her business going as independently as she could. After a long and difficult battle with breast cancer, she fought hard and came out victorious. Her strength, perseverance, and unwavering spirit have been an inspiration to everyone who knows her.

Unfortunately, just as she was starting to rebuild her life and get Seed Confections back on track, she was shovelling snow, fell and broke her arm. Due to all the chemo her bones are much more fragile and due to her work being very hands on she also required surgery. This has put her in a difficult position, as she now faces a long recovery and following this physical therapy and the financial strain of not being able to work at her full capacity as we enter what would be some of her busiest times at Seed.

Genevieve is not one to ask for help lightly and she is doing everything she can to keep the business up and running. But right now, she needs our support more than ever. Seed Confections, which has been a source of independence and joy for her, could be at risk. Without financial assistance, the road to recovery will be much harder.

She has spent years in St. Thomas helping the community in so many ways. She has hosted fundraisers with #GiveWithSeed which has raised almost $20,000 that she has been able to give back to the community. She supports other local businesses through social media and the innovation kitchen, she even spent last Christmas running a toy drive that helped over 75 families in the area. Now it’s time we help Gen, and give back to her for all she has done for us.

We are raising funds to help cover Genevieve’s business expenses, debt due to lack of work during treatment and costs for physio so she can get back into the kitchen and bring us joy through all her amazing treats and community efforts. Every little bit helps, and no contribution is too small. Gen has always been there for others, offering kindness, wisdom, and support to anyone in need.
