The Society of Banat Bulgarians in Bulgaria – Falmis is an organisation which sees to it that Bulgarians in Romanian and Serbian Banat are not forgotten and left alone. Catholics that left Bulgaria during the 17-th century settled in Austria-Hungary, but retained their Bulgarian language, soul, heart and culture. Some of them migrated back to Bulgaria and live with the pain of missing the ones on the outside.
Every year, the Society of Banat Bulgarians in Bulgaria – Falmis organises a large concert under the motto "Falmis and Friends" in which Banat Bulgarians from Bulgaria and Romania participate.
The concert will take place on 21 January 2022 in "Aula Maxima" of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Boulevard "Hristo Smirnenski" 1, 1046 Lozenets, Sofia, from 19:00 o'clock.
On the 24-th birthday of the "Falmis" project, out guests will be the Banat Bulgarians of the male choir "Jaku Ronkov" from Star Bišnov, Romania, conductor Elena Doycheva-Dragomir, and the Folklore Ensamble of the Cultural Centre of Bosilegrad, Serbia. The concert includes a special participation of the Northern Ensemble "Ivan Valev" from Pleven, Bulgaria, which is a friend of "Falmis".
We are looking for financial support for the welcoming and accommodation of 57 guests from abroad. The total sum amounts to 10 500 leva.
1. 4-hour rent of 800-seat hall (800 leva/hour) – 3200 leva
2. Travel expenses for the Northern Ensemble of Pleven to and from Sofia – 800 leva
3. Video recording of the concert and phographers – 500 leva
4. Accommodation and food for our guests from abroad – 6000 leva
The event will be proof that they are not forgotten, neither is their pain or their pride, and that they participate in the preservation of Bulgarian identity.
