Hi, my name is Amber and I’m fundraising for my 9 month old blind kitten named Stevie. Stevie was born with no eyes. She has eye sockets, but there’s nothing inside them. Due to the fact that she has two wide open holes (eye sockets), bacteria gets into them very easily.
Ever since I adopted her and her “adopted brother” Cheeto back in September, I’ve had to clean her eyes daily due to discharge. About a month ago, I noticed she started to paw at her eyes a lot. The discharge had become a yellow-greenish color and a very pungent odor was coming from her eye area. I took her to the vet and was told she had an infection, and that the only way to prevent it from becoming an ongoing thing is to get her eye sockets sewn up. This procedure is not only extremely scary, but also very pricey.
Stevie is still being treated for her infection, but once she’s in the clear, the procedure will need to be done as soon as possible in order to prevent any further infections. (If they get infected again, she’ll have to be treated a second time because her eyes can not be sewn up with an active infection.)
To anyone and everyone that contributes even as little as $1, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank youuuu!! Stevie, Cheeto, and I all appreciate you more than you know<3
