Help Emily whose fighting cancer while taking care of a baby

Hi everyone,

My name is Jane and I’m fundraising to help my dear friends Emily and Dan. This past winter, Emily found out she was pregnant with her third child and that she has stage 2 HER2+ breast cancer. For these reasons, Emily underwent a complete mastectomy on the affected breast, which given she was pregnant was a risky procedure. Luckily chemo was deemed reasonably safe while pregnant, so she underwent chemotherapy and the decision was made to induce her beautiful baby girl 5 weeks early. After her baby was born, she restarted chemotherapy with the goal of eventually completing radiation therapy and undergoing another mastectomy of the other breast. Beautiful Maisie was born on July 18th and Emily and Dan spent a considerable amount of time in the NICU while trying to also attend to their other two children who are 5 and 3. Unfortunately, Emily also found out that she is two months short to be eligible for top up from her employer. On top of her needing to go on leave to recover from child birth and a sick leave due to cancer, her husband will be going on parental leave to primarily take care of their children while Emily also continues her treatment. I am asking folks to either donate if they can, or share this go fund me. Right now this family is going through a lot and are being stretched quite thin financially. They are amazing people who as social workers have dedicated their lives to helping others in need, and my goal is to raise some money to help them with bills while going through such difficult circumstances.
