We have created this GoFund me on behalf of our cousin Mario Carranza and Alyssa Patino who recently welcomed their baby into this world at only 24 weeks old. We are asking for donations to help ease their financial burdens during this stressful time as Alyssa is on extended leave from work and Mario is a full-time student studying to be a Radiology Technician.

Below is their story in their own words.

From Alyssa and Mario:

Elias Valentino Carranza was born on September 25th, 2024 by emergency C-section due to sudden and unexpected complications during pregnancy. He was extremely premature, born at only 24 weeks, weighing 1.5 pounds at 13 inches long and in critical condition. His mom was flown by helicopter from Kaweah Delta in Visalia to Fresno Community Regional Hospital for the birth, which is where he still resides today in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). He will remain in the NICU at Fresno Community at minimum until his original expected due date, which was January 15th of 2025. We are asking for any donations possible to help ease the financial burdens of the constant driving back and forth from Fresno to Visalia, food, lodging, vehicle maintenance, and other daily expenses during this difficult time.

If unable to donate financially, we are also extremely grateful for all your prayers, love, and support, which so far have been amazing and so empowering. Elias is a fighter and we can not wait to bring him home! We know that there is a long road ahead of us, but we stay positive and find strength in his resilient spirit and knowing that he will persevere through this battle for his life.
