Hey you! My name is Tanya Layton, and I am starting this GoFundMe for my little sister, Diana, to help raise $230,000 for the next stage of her cancer treatment.
Shockingly, to everyone who knew Diana and her extremely clean lifestyle, Diana was diagnosed in 2025 with a cancerous tumour—adenocarcinoma—and she has already suffered through an incredibly difficult and trying journey this past year. I don’t want to share too much personal information on the suffering of her journey, but she has been in severe pain, exhaustion, worry, and just day-to-day ongoing stress. She completed five weeks of radiation followed by three months of chemotherapy. Her oncology team has stated that, although they have removed whatever tumours they can, and that the treatments have been somewhat successful in shrinking her tumor, it has not been a complete success and the option for further treatment is not available to her, here domestically.
Unfortunately, the tumour remains so it has been decided that Diana will be going out of country for extended targeted therapy.
I do not want to label Diana or her identity as just is a cancer patient. Diana is a beautiful vibrant, young lady, a wife and a mother of two beautiful little girls. She is a graduate of Western University, in London, Ontario. She is an artist.. She is kind, soft, ladylike and tender creature in every way. She has always been a passionate advocate and lover of all animals. Rescuing many over the years.
But overall being a mother has been the largest most beloved title bestowed on her and she is the most wonderful gift to her young daughters, Chloe and little Evangeline. They are the heartbeat of all of Diana’s dreams.
Diana, her husband Greg and her young daughters, live several provinces away (Alberta) from any family and we are doing all we can to support them from afar.
Like any mother, Diana dreams of being there for her children, for all of it—the ordinary mundane days as much as the milestones. She wants to watch her daughters grow up, guide them through their lives, their decision making, celebrate their accomplishments, be there for graduations, weddings, babies, whatever may come in their lives
and have many more years of making and enjoying memories together.
Cancer has delivered a dreadful uncertainty into their lives that no family wishes to experience. The big “C” is what we all fear for our loved ones. It’s the news we all dread to receive.
Throughout radiation, chemotherapy, hyperbaric chambers, appointments, meetings, medications, days upon unending days at the hospital, testing and difficult heartbreak and worry, Diana has continued being a mom and trying to keep life moving forward for her girls. Still trying her best to attend games, making holidays special, helping with school, trying hard to maintain her home and some normality for her little family. It’s been an exhausting challenge for her, to say the least.
Her daughters, Chloe and Evangeline, are a huge part of the reason she continues to search for every treatment option available to her. Her research has been an ongoing daily occupation, as she has been informed that traditional western medicine is sadly, no longer an option for her, she has been deep diving into any possible therapies outside of Canada that may be an option to save her.
After everything Di has already endured, she is now seeking additional treatment at Envita Medical Centers in Arizona. Because this treatment is outside Canada, the medical and associated expenses are not covered by our provincial healthcare system.
We are hoping to raise $230,000 to help make this next step possible in the fight for our Lady Di’s most precious, sweet little life.
The funds raised will go toward Diana’s treatment at Envita, medical testing and procedures, travel between Canada and Arizona, accommodations while receiving treatment, transportation and other necessary expenses associated with her care.
Family will care for her children while Diana and Greg are away for treatments.
For our family, $230,000 is an overwhelming amount of money to ask assistance in raising. Asking for help is never a comfortable or easy task to do, but neither is watching someone you love terrified while facing cancer and what it threatens, while also carrying the financial burden of seeking additional treatment.
As Diana’s big sister, I want her energy to be spent focusing on her health, her treatment, healing energy, and being present with her daughters—not burdened with worrying about how she is going to pay for the next step. Already, this past year has been an extremely financially draining time for them. She is fighting for her life down to the last penny.
We are asking our family, friends, community and anyone who comes across Diana’s story to help us get her to Arizona. More like we are begging on our hands and knees to make this hope and dream, a reality.
Every donation matters. Whether it is $5, $25, $100 or simply as easy as sharing this fundraiser, every little act of kindness helps to bring us closer to our goal.
If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing Diana’s story.
You never know, just one share can reach someone we never could have reached ourselves. Please, include her in your bedtime prayers, your vibrant and happy thoughts and positive energy and help light her way.
From me, her big sister Tanya, sincere heartfelt gratitude from Diana, her husband Greg (who has been gluing it all together during this time and continuing his very best to hold on as strong as he can), her little girls and our entire family, thank you for reading her story, supporting her and helping her pursue this next step. We are eternally grateful.
More than anything, our wish is for Diana to have the opportunity to keep doing what matters the very most to her:
Being a Mama.
