Help Daniele Find Light Again: A Healing Trip to Australia

I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request to help someone incredibly special to me — my dear friend Daniele, who lives in Italy — find a little light again after the darkest year of his life.

Daniele recently lost his partner and love of 14 years, Sasi, to cancer. After a sudden diagnosis in 2023, Sasi passed away in May 2024. Since then, Daniele has been living with an immense weight of grief. The man I’ve always known to be full of life, kindness, and warmth is now quietly carrying heartbreak that no one should have to bear alone.

They were the best couple I’ve ever known — the kind of love that inspired me, the kind of bond that felt timeless. Watching Daniele navigate life without Sasi has been heartbreaking. His home, his work, his city — every place is a reminder of what he lost.

It’s really hard to see Daniele stuck in this heavy place, and I know that a trip to Australia to visit me, it would do him good. A change of air, a new rhythm, some space to feel something different.

I’m already putting in what I can, but to cover the main costs of the trip, especially the flight, I’ll need a bit of help.

That’s why I’m starting this fundraiser — to try and raise around $2,500 and make this visit possible. With some support, I really believe we can make it happen and give Daniele something to look forward to — something that could bring a bit of light back into his life.
